Begining Weight Watchers...
Last Tuesday is when I officiall began Weight Watchers. I never actually thought that I would EVER do something like that...especially at the age of 24 but when you live in the middle of nowhere it's actually really nice to have something to do on a Tuesday night-even if it is just stepping on a scale in a conference room of a hotel.
I had already lost five pounds from the week before when I "unofficially" started WW. I'm excited to see how it all works. I never realized how much CRAP I ate before-unecessary crap. I also try to go on a mile walk three to four times a week. My husband bought me a heart rate monitor so that I can stay in the proper fat burning zone. It actually really helps me and makes me feel confident that even just a little walking is really helping.
I know that I may not look like I need to lose a ton of weight but when you've been a smallish person for so long and then all of a sudden weight just keeps adding on it really crushes the self esteem.
My parents came to visit from Texas this weekend and lets just say that Weight Watchers went out the window for a few days...the weigh in this week is not going to be pretty.

Good luck with WW! Here are a couple good sites if you're interested:

I REALLY need to jump back on the WW train; I've been slacking and hate the way I feel.
I think WW is great! I try to follow the general principles especially since my parents are doing it. My dad has lost nearly 25 pounds and my mom has lost 10 so far. I love Hungry Girl which has a ton of WW-friendly ideas too! Oh and I know how you feel about losing in the first place... I don't even tell anyone besides the girls here about my weight loss goals because I know people think I look healthy and I am, but I don't fit into my clothes like I want to and that's my own personal goal! When I gained weight my self esteem and just plain energy suffered.
June 6, 2010 at 12:18 PMGreat idea about the heart rate monitor.....my dad has one, and most of the time when I am running, I am wayyyy out of the fat burn range! So it's nice to have to be able to do optimal fat burn exercise!
